WORKSHOP "Multi-User Rooms"

im Rahmen des Festivals "Crash! Boom! BAU!"

8. bis 15. Mai

Bauhaus-Uni Weimar

Bewerbungen: festival@bauhauslab.org

The workshop will focus on scenographical issues regarding the
integration of interactive audio-visual systems within spaces
such as the theatrical stage, the urban public environments
and architecture.

The workshop will comprise of a series of presentation on
key concepts, hands-on sessions and individual project
development.

Through several case studies, we will address the reciprocal
relations between human (body), space and technology
regarding the intrinsic characteristics of the interface
while retrofitted into the scenographical space.
During the workshop we will follow the question how
digital new media influences and let us generate
new concepts for interactions, spaces, and audio-visual forms.

Within the hands-on sessions, participants will explore
and develop various concepts and techniques for
real-time audio-visual synthesis. We will implement projects
with authoring tools such as VVVV for image synthesis
and Max/MSP for real-time audio . Participants are invited to develop stand-alone projects or interconnect those with other participants’ modules.

The workshop will survey numerous interface styles
and their underlying technologies. We will have a
special focus on tangible, tactile and “multi-touch” interfaces. Participants are welcomed to show up with their
own hard- and software.
