Jan Brüggemeier lebt als selbständiger Künstler und Medienproduzent in Leipzig. Er studierte Experimentelles Radio in der Bauhaus- Universität Weimar. Sound art, neue Medien und partizipative Stadtplanung sind seine hauptsächlichen Arbeitsfelder. Er zeigte seine Arbeiten u.a. im Kunstraum Schloss Wiepersdorf (D), auf der 'artwave platform' der 1. Athen Biennale, im ORF Kunstradio (A) und beim 'Meteor' Festival in Bergen (NO) gezeigt. 2008 ist er Stipendiat der Sächsischen Kulturstiftung. Seit 2001 war er Kurator einer Reihe von Festivals wie ''radical connector(s) 01", „City and Protest“, „media above & beyond“, „Mediating Europe“ und “Construction Site Utopia”. Er war der Berater für Neue Medien des Netzwerks der Kulturhauptstädte (ECCM) 2007 und Kurator der ECCM Wanderausstellung in Patras (GR). Von 2005-06 war er Koordinator des Internationalen Mediennetzwerks und Internetradio Portals “Heritage Radio Network”, (Cultural Heritage and New Media for Regional and Sustainable Development) welchesmit 8 öffentlichen europäischen Radiosendern in Europa kooperiert. Jan Brüggemeier is a freelance artist and media producer based in Leipzig (D). He studied radio art at the Bauhaus University Weimar. His main focus is set to the domain of sound art, new media and participatory urban planning. He recently presented his work at the art space Schloss Wiepersdorf (D), artwave platform of the 1st Athens Biennial, ORF Kunstradio art's birthday (A) and the Meteor Festival Bergen (No). In 2008 he is artist-in-resident of the Cultural Foundation of Saxony (D). Since 2001 he has been curator of a series of festivals like „radical connector(s) 01“, „City and Protest“, „media above & beyond“, „Mediating Europe“ and “Construction Site Utopia”. He has been the new media advisor of the Network of Cultural Capitals and Month (ECCM) in 2007 and the new media curator of the ECCM travelling exhibition in Patras (GR) in 2006. From 2005 - 2006 he has been the coordinator of the international media network an Internetradio portal for cultural journalism “Heritage Radio Network”, (Cultural Heritage and New Media for Regional and Sustainable Development) in cooperation with 8 public radio stations in Europe. Carla B. Guttmann has worked in the film industry inter alia as director, photographer, editor and instructor at Studio XX. She is a member of the Rhode Island Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa and received her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and Semiotics from Brown University (1993) she will receive her Master of Fine Arts in New Media from The Bauhaus University in Weimar (2008). Amongst her awards are grants from the Conseil Des Arts et Lettres du Quebec, the National Film Board of Canada, the Fonds de Recherche sur la Nature et les Technologies and AG Kurzfilm. Sebastian Hannak, geboren 1976, studierte 1999-2004 Bühnen- und Kostümbild an der Kunstakademie Stuttgart bei Jürgen Rose und Martin Zehetgruber. Währenddessen Arbeitsaufenthalt bei David Hockney in Los Angeles und Assistenzen und Mitarbeiten in Darmstadt, Hamburg und Zürich u. a. bei Klaus- Michael Grüber, John Neumaier und Johann Kresnik. Sebastian Hannak, born in 1976, studied stage and costume design at the Kunstakademie Stuttgart at Jürgen Rose and Martin Zehetgruber from 1999-2004. During his study he did a working stay at David Hockney in Los Angeles and assistances in Darmstadt, Hamburg and Zürich inter alia at Klaus- Michael Grüber, John Neumaier and Johann Kresnik.
Sie zeigte ihre Arbeit auf Performance Festivals, wie Performance Mix New York, Mois de la Performance, Montreal während verschiedenener Aufenthaltsstipendien als Site spezifische Perfomance: Visualeyez 2007, 3E Imperial, Granby und in Galleriekontexten: Fofa, MAI in Montreal. 2007 erhielt sie eine Förderung ihres laufenden Forschungsprojektes “Plastic Optimism: A Practice in Enabling Constraints” im Rahmen von CIAM. Emma Waltraud Howes is an interdisciplinary artist working with the body in relation to confinement and control. A background in Ballet, Contemporary Modern Dance, Visual Arts and Cultural-Criticism informs her current praxis. This process aims to cultivate the interstitial in which these diverse practices culminate. By means of rigorous movement-research her inspiration is gleaned for the construction of accumulative prosthesis. She has exhibited locally and internationally within performance art festivals: Performance Mix NYC, Mois de la Performance, Montreal, through Site Specific Performance Residencies: Visualeyez 2007, 3E Imperial, Granby and within gallery contexts: Fofa, MAI, Montreal. Her video work is widely distributed by Video Out, Vancouver, and Groupe Intervention Video, Montreal. This year she was awarded a CIAM project grant for her ongoing research-creation project “Plastic Optimism: A Practice in Enabling Constraints”.
Marc Illing studied architecture and fine art at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. He regards his work as interdisciplinary and works inbetween. Thus principal matters of space are put under discussion as well as moving images and painting. He had the possibility to exhibit at the architecture biennal in Venice in 2002. Since 2006 he works as freelance artist and architect.
Lorena Diaz Stephens born in 1978 in Santiago de Chile studied social sciences and design at the Universidad Católica de Chile from 1997-2003. In 2007 she received her Master in MediaArchitecture at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. She worked as product, stage and costume designer amongst others for the 'Oikos' project at the Expo in Zaragoza under direction of Roland Olbeter, different plays of the chilean theatre group 'Espantomima' and short film projects. Currently she is scenographer of productions of Caroline Stolz at the State Theatre Wiesbaden. Ieva Kaulina, born in 1979, studied Stage Design at the Latvian Academy of Fine Arts in Riga. She lives as stage setter and artist in Riga and works inter alia for The Latvian National Opera House, The New Theater Riga and free projects, movies and animation films.
In different modes and methods for production and presentation Daniela Kinateder explores the interdependencies of sound and image on screen, on stage and exhibition site. Special focus lays on the role of the spectating audience. She is working with analogue as well as digital media, found footage and archive material producing experimental films, visuals for music and dance performances, installations, ambient compositions. She worked solely and in constellations of ensemble projects with other film makers, componists, musicians, performer. More over she works as a freelance editor for animation and experimental film and movies. Since October 2007 she is teaching esthetics of montage at the Film Academy Konrad Wolf Babelsberg. Jana Linke geboren 1978 in Bremen hat Experimentelle Mediengestaltung an der Universität der Künste Berlin und Bühnenbild an der Akademie Minerva, Groningen studiert. Sie erhielt den ersten Preis des XII Canariasmediafest für Multimediale Installation, den lili-Preis der UdK Berlin und den lab award. 2007/2008 wurde sie vom Land Berlin mit dem NaFöG-Stipendium gefördert. Juliane Zelwies born in 1976 in Berlin studied Experimental Media Design (master student) at the University of Arts Berlin and Fine Arts/ sculpture at the Konstfack / Stockholm. She did a postgrade study at the Tyler School of Art/ Philadelphia. She received inter alia a scholarship from DAAD and the Laura H. Carnell grant. Her works are represented through 'arsenal experimental', Cinema Arsenal Berlin (Friends of the German cinema archive e.V.). Jana Linke und Juliane Zelwies sind Labor K1 ein künstlerisches Forschungslabor, gegründet 2006. Das Labor entwickelt und setzt künstlerische Konzepte um, mit denen vor allem mediale und medienkünstlerische Zusammenhänge untersucht werden. Das Anliegen liegt hierbei stets darin, Sachverhalte und Situationen neu bzw. anders zu sehen und mit den Mitteln der Kontextverschiebung sichtbar zu machen. Jana Linke and Juliane Zelwies are 'Labor K-1' a artistic research lab found in 2006. The lab develops and realises artistic concepts, which analyses media and media artistic correlations. Concern herby is always to reflect situations by means of contextual displacements.
Maik Ronz born in 1978 studied architecture and city planning in Cottbus (G), Graz (A) and Kopenhagen (DK). With his works he took part on several competitions, group exhibitions and European projects. Charlotte Erckrath studierte Architektur und Bildhauerei in Braunschweig, Graz, Kopenhagen und London. Sie diplomierte 2007 mit Auszeichnung in Architektur am University College in London. Als Künstlerin und Architektin arbeitete sie an europäischen Workshops, Projekten, Gruppenausstellungen und Studien zu raumrelevanten Themen, Fotografie und Bühnenbild. Charlotte Erckrath studied architecture and sculpture in Braunschweig(G), Graz(A), Kopenhagen(DK) and London (GB). In 2007 she graduated with distinction in architecture at University College in London. As artist and architect she worked on European workshops, projects, group exhibitions and scientific surveys about space relevant topics, photography and stage design. Charlotte Erkrath und Maik Ronz sind die 'raumarbeiter - Architecture, Research by Design and Scenography'. In ihrem aktuellen Projekt, was sie als Stipendiaten des Thalia Theaters in Halle entwickeln, beschäftigen sie sich mit den räumlichen Beziehungen zwischen den Akteuren im Theaterraum. 'Unser Interesse gilt szenischen Konstruktionen, welche die Position der Beteiligten in Frage stellen.' Charlotte Erkrath and Maik Ronz are 'raumarbeiter - Architecture, Research by Design and Scenography'. In their current project, which they realize as grantees of the Thalia theatre in Halle, they engage in spatial correlations between the different protagonists in architectural theatre space. 'We are interested in scenic constructions, which are questioning stable positions of the involved.' Jörg Frank Seemann, born in 1976 is theatre director and lighting designer. He lives and works on Art, Architecture and research projects in London, Stockholm and Berlin. PeterWächtler, born in 1979 in Hannover graduated from Fine Arts at the Bauhaus- University in Weimar and studied in the Kent Institute of Art and Design, Canterbury. He shows his works in exhibitions inter alia in Düsseldorf, Leipzig, Hamburg and Berlin, designes stages for Theatre House Weimar and publishes art editions, catalogues and essays. He lves and works in Berlin.
